CHURCH TEAS

Since Jean Oliver has left Bankfoot to move to the Borders to be nearer her family, Marion Stevenson now compiles the rota for the tea and coffee on Sundays after worship. Marion will be contacting those on Jean's list to arrange for a new 'tea' rota but if you are not on the existing list and would like to help, just speak to Marion.

CRAFT FAYRE 2011

Auchtergaven & Moneydie Parish Church annual Craft Fayre is going to take place on Saturday 19th November from 11.00 – 3.00 in the Bankfoot Church Centre. There will be at least 40 stalls selling a huge variety of high quality and unusual products – so come along with your friends to do some pre-Christmas shopping.
Don’t forget to have a coffee or a light lunch with us as well.

The proceeds from last year’s Fayre were used to buy picnic tables with umbrellas,  which will appear in the better weather,  china and cutlery for the kitchen so that we will have 100 place settings when asked to cater for outside functions. We also bought various items for the kitchen to enable its smooth running. When breakages occur, which is inevitable, we will replace what is required. Added to that we bought another supply of Church mugs.

SHARE-A-BOOK

Please come and have a browse through the new selection of books in the Share-a-Book area in the Church Foyer.  There are books for all tastes – romance, thrillers, crime, adventure, non fiction – all available for a small donation.

Thanks to everyone who has donated books.  At the moment we have as many as we can cope with but after Christmas we would welcome any you feel you want to ‘share’.

It is a good way to recycle because we pass them on to Oxfam when we have finished with them, making money again for another charity.

Craft Fayre 2010

We had a most successful Craft Fayre in Bankfoot  Church Centre on Saturday 20 November and raised the total sum of £2,300.  We would like to thank most sincerely all those who kindly donated baking, goods, their time, and who helped in any way, it was all much appreciated.

The Hamper was won by Mrs ( Maureen Grant) and the raffle which was kindly organised by Mr John Fairholm was won by Mrs.Maureen Grant also.  Our thanks to Mr Fairholm for donating a beautiful photo of the Church for this raffle.  Last but by no means least, our thanks to all those who came and supported this event.

Craft Fayre 2009

The Outreach Committee held their Annual Craft Fayre on Saturday 21 November in Bankfoot Church Centre.   There were 38 stalls with a wide variety of crafts ranging from woodworking, ceramics, home made chocolates, sewing, knitting, flower arrangements, jewellery etc etc..  Lunches, teas and coffees were  served in the foyer to our many visitors.    We raised the grand total of £1,700 and would like to thank all who helped in the kitchen, those who served the tables, washed the dishes and to the men who kept the car park virtually free of water.  It was a very happy day.

Sunday Teas

We would like to thank all the ‘volunteers’ who have agreed to help out on the Sunday morning Tea Rota.

Summer walk

Unfortunately we had to cancel the annual walk due to the poor weather and waterlogged state of the ground.  Hopefully, next year will be better and we will try again.

Share-a-Book

We have 2 new book cases in the Foyer where there is a wide variety of books to have a look at and take away to read at your leisure.  Keep them for as long as you want but, if you’ve enjoyed them, why not return them so that others can have that pleasure as well.  We suggest a small donation of 50p per book which will go to Church Centre funds.

Any ideas?

If anyone has any ideas about events or activities which could bring the community and church closer together, please let us know.
