The weekly schedule below shows when the different organisations meet. It does not show holidays or those meetings which may convene at different locations to which they normally do. Mission Rescue!

The Bankfoot Church Annual Holiday Club took place from Monday 8 August – Friday 12 August each day from 10.00 – 12.30 and then 1.30 – 3.00 except Friday.
On Friday there was a BBQ and Fun night planned to take place at Active Kids Adventure Park in Stanley. Unfortunately rain stopped that, but we had a good evening instead at the church and 2 lucky familes won the competitions for a free family day pass at the Adventure Park. Lucky them! - and many thanks to Active Kids!

We had 43 children at the club and the team, with new people in it, worked well together. The material we used was well put together and we all enjoyed the DVD telling the story so well.
We are grateful to all those who supported us with gifts of fruit and donations. And we are grateful to God for His love and care.

Final session showing parents what was done including singing, prizes etc. on Sunday 14 August at 11.15 a.m.

All children from Primary 2 – 7 are welcome to come along on Tuesdays, for more fun and games. This term we are following "Take Away" the material that folloiws up "Rocky's Plaice" which is the material we used for the holiday club. Compass costs only 50p which includes juice and biscuits.

Introducing our Youth Worker

For some months, we have been working towards the appointment of a part time (20 hour week) youth worker and we are delighted to have made an appointment. Here is what Paula writes…

My name is Paula Matthew and I'm the new Youth Worker at the church. I started my role in the middle of February and I have been thoroughly enjoying my time here. At our Tuesday night 'Compass' session we are currently working from the 'Awesome' booklet looking at the seven miracles as well as doing special Easter activities.

The Hub is also continuing well with sports activities such as badminton and football, with my plan being to organise day trips for the Hub in the future.

Next term I shall begin Wednesday lunchtime sessions at Auchtergaven Primary School (starting with P6 and P7s, with the intention of extending this to further classes). I shall also be taking Assembly in May.

It has been a pleasure getting to know the children and youth of Bankfoot these last few weeks as well as many members of the community and I hope to be able to carry on the great work done by everyone thus far. I look forward to working with and encouraging the children of Bankfoot in their relationship with the church and community and to extending the youth programmes in the future.

I have left a 'Suggestion Box' in the Hub and I welcome any ideas that people may have - please feel free to let me know your thoughts.
