Church Centre - use of facilities
June 2010
We
are still seeing a steady flow of bookings for facilities within the
Church
Centre despite the economic situation. Repeat bookings are now starting
to
feature quite strongly with the main support coming from the Royal
Scottish
Country Dance Association (a 9 week booking for July & August),
Perth &
Kinross Council (various 1 day events) and the Church of Scotland’s
main office
in Edinburgh (various 1 day events). The list below gives some idea of
the
variety of bookings that the Church Centre has been used for this year
up to
the end of May:-
· 8 children's parties
· 11 conferences / away days
· 4 tours with catering
· 5 Adult parties/funeral teas
Income generated through bookings - £5000
Thanks to Dawn and her trusty volunteers more and more of the bookings include in house catering – ranging from tea/coffee and biscuits to finger buffet, fruit, and home baking. If anyone would like to become one of Dawn’s trusty helpers to assist on a one off basis they would be more than welcome, just speak to Dawn.

BSOC staff, children and management committee have had a really successful first year. We have employed 3 local staff and around 20 local families are registered to use the service with 25 children using BSOC on a regular, weekly basis.
Our first users’ survey (children and parents / carers) showed high level of satisfaction with the service and also gave us food for thought when developing new activities and buying new resources for next year.
We are currently waiting for our first unannounced Care Commission inspection visit. This will be a real learning experience for both Staff and Management Committee and will no doubt give us lots of pointers for making the service even better!
BSOC AGM will be held on Monday 14th June in The Hub, Bankfoot Church Centre from 7pm - 8pm.
Come and hear about the achievements of the children, staff and management committee in the last year and have your say about plans for August 2010 onwards. All Welcome - WINE & NIBBLES WILL BE SERVED.
BSOC is accepting registration forms from families wishing to use the service from August 2010 onwards. If you are interested in using the service on a regular or ad-hoc basis, please speak to Pauline Hinks, Club Supervisor on 07599058824. Once registered you can use the service at any time (space permitting). Registration Fee applies.
Bankfoot School’s out Club, (BSOC), is a Company Limited by Guarantee operating on a not for profit basis, with charitable status and is run by a Management Committee of local parents. BSOC is being part-financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community Rural Tayside Leader 2007-2013 Programme.
